School and Skydiving!

Tomorrow is the last day of my first week back at school. It's gone well so far. I've been given a lot of handouts, one of the textbooks that we are going to be using and I've already finished 4 assignments that are due on Monday. On Tuesday, my actual first day of class since Monday was just listening to the president of the school talk and paying my tuition, our instructor asked us a few questions and what our goals are for the course. I told her that I was going to get at least 85% on all assignments and tests if not higher and that I'm going to be student of the year, an award they hand out to one student each year from all of the different courses offered. She nodded her head and said, "Good," as if she weren't surprised and in an approving way.

I've already warned everyone in the class that I'm a big dork, so that's good! The class is small, there are 12 of us in total, and only one guy. The instructor keeps mentioning going home and talking to a boyfriend or a husband and the guy in our class keeps on coughing when she does and then she turns pink and smiles at him and adds girlfriend to her list. I spoke to him a little today and told him not to worry, he's got company in the whole not going home to a boyfriend or husband! He's a nice guy and doesn't seem to mind that he's the only guy taking the course right now, and who can blame him, really?! He's in the same room, Monday to Thursday, for 5 hours a day with ME! What's not to love?! Hahahaha!

I'm going to talk to my instructor about volunteering at a law firm in the next couple of weeks. I want to wait those couple of weeks until I have a little more information under my belt about what I'd need to do. There's a lot of stuff to learn in a short period of time but I'm very excited about it all. I'm very much looking forward to really getting into the different things that you need to do as a legal assistant for the different types of law. There are different forms, different policies, different procedures, and different duties for each type of law and I'm looking forward to seeing which one I want to focus on and do my internship in. I'm not going to do family law though. I would constantly be suggesting to the clients that they go speak to my pastor before they do anything else... maybe that's not such a bad idea after all, though that wouldn't really help with paying off my debt!

So, I have an opportunity to go skydiving! I want to go. I've wanted to go for about 6 years. I have money in the bank to pay for it, but it's my line of credit. Therein lies the problem. I'm going to pay off my line of credit as fast as I can after I'm done school but I still live in my parents home. If I tell them that I'm going to use my line of credit to pay for skydiving I don't think it would go over so well. At the same time, when am I going to get another chance to go? If I go and just don't tell them, what happens if something bad happens to me? I could tell them that I'm going and that I'm an adult and all of those fine things and then incur their displeasure, or I could tell them that this is actually money that I had in my account before I got the line of credit... which wouldn't be a lie actually! Oh, the beauty of thinking things through while typing! So, who wants to go skydiving with me on June 16th?! Let me know if you want to, seriously.
